PURPOSE

I decided to share these numbers transparently this month in case they provide some encouragement.

COVID-19 has profoundly impacted the recruitment industry, and while conditions are different in each market, there are encouraging signs.

As many countries start tentatively easing restrictions, we can see indications of improvements in job and placement numbers.

If this report is valuable, then let me know, and we can continue to provide updates.

SUMMARY

The UK and North America are showing improvements in several sectors, with growth this week in Perm placements in the UK and Temp numbers in North America.

Job numbers in ANZ have improved, and placement numbers have stabilised, with signs of improvements in NZ.

Source: Aggregated job and placement data across 3000 recruitment agencies using the JobAdder platform.

For privacy reasons we don’t provide actual volumes on most reports, however coming from 3000 accounts, the numbers are significant, and the patterns are reliable. This data is not intended to be used to make financial or investment decisions.

USER NUMBERS (OVER 18 MONTHS)

JobAdder clients can reduce user numbers any time without penalty, which also reduces their monthly invoice. We, therefore, see impacts on recruiter numbers in real-time.

This chart shows the powerful impact that COVID-19 has had on the recruitment industry.

The good news is that decreases are slowing. We cautiously expect to see numbers beginning to improve again in June and July.

CLIENT NUMBERS (OVER 18 MONTHS)

Very few agencies (using JobAdder) have closed their accounts. To date, they have mostly decreased user numbers but remained open and active.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Our Customer Support ticket numbers for April show that recruiters are still working. 3031 support requests in a calendar month is a solid month, even pre COVID-19.

Strong inbound sales leads in April further support that many are using this time to tidy up their systems or implement new ones.
