Think of it as an advanced tool capable of reading all of Shakespeare\u2019s works and then writing a new play in his style almost instantly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the focus for today\u2019s recruitment industry is on language models, like <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OpenAI&#8217;s ChatGPT<\/a>, generative AI also includes image and video models like DALL-E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transforming the role of recruiters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Generative AI will not replace recruiters but it will unquestionably transform their roles. The technology removes or speeds up many administrative and compliance tasks. Here&#8217;s a handy breakdown:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ad writing and outreach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of consultants having to start from scratch for tasks like <a href=\"https:\/\/jobadder.com\/gb\/resource\/writing-winning-job-ads-in-a-tight-talent-market\/\">ad writing<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/jobadder.com\/gb\/blog\/tips-social-media-recruiting\/\">social media<\/a> posts, and <a href=\"https:\/\/jobadder.com\/gb\/blog\/linkedin-profile\/\">LinkedIn<\/a> outreach communications, AI can draft these within minutes, reducing a 40-minute task to about 15 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Search queries<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Even junior team members can now formulate high-quality Boolean search strings, thanks to AI, thus levelling the playing field within recruitment agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Candidate screening<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine arriving at your desk to find that your AI tool has already screened hundreds of <a href=\"https:\/\/jobadder.com\/gb\/blog\/anonymising-applicant-resumes-and-cvs\/\">resumes<\/a> and shortlisted the most viable candidates for <a href=\"https:\/\/jobadder.com\/gb\/blog\/phone-screen-interview\/\">interviews<\/a>. This is not a distant future but a near reality, decreasing manual candidate screening time from approximately 23 hours to a mere fraction of that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Practical applications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job ads<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris South co-developed an app integrated with JobAdder that uses OpenAI API to write job ads. The technology has analysed millions of existing ads and can draft new ones effectively, although as with any AI writing you\u2019ll need to fine-tune for formatting and tone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reporting and analytics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>AI can not only fetch daily job ads for lead generation but also write <a href=\"https:\/\/jobadder.com\/jobadders-business-development-features\/\">business development<\/a> summaries by analysing candidate profiles and CVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adoption challenges<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Setting expectations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>AI is not a magic wand; it needs <a href=\"https:\/\/jobadder.com\/gb\/jobadder-academy\/\">training<\/a> and iteration. Once we remove the expectation for a perfect outcome, adoption rates increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Skill development<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams need to practice and share new AI use cases regularly. There\u2019s a learning curve, and in some cases, a need for custom software to take care of prompt engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Utility question<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While AI can list daily jobs, its capability to look beyond core <a href=\"https:\/\/jobadder.com\/gb\/platform-feature\/job-boards\/\">job sites<\/a> is still developing. Businesses need to weigh the return on investment and not adopt technology just for its sake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final thoughts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Generative AI in recruitment is not a question of &#8220;if&#8221; but &#8220;when&#8221; and \u201cby how much\u201d.
