An entry level job is one that is usually filled by a recent college or university graduate or someone with minimal work experience. The role tends to be low-skilled and general in its duties but affords the employee an opportunity to get onto the career ladder of a specific occupation and experience what it’s like to work in that area or field. There has been discussions around the future of entry level positions and whether the use of robots will cause these roles to be non-existent. Such roles include cashier, lifeguard, delivery driver and waiter/waitress among others. This increases the competition for entry level roles with recent graduates struggling to find jobs after university.
