What is Candidate Sourcing?
Candidate sourcing refers to the task of a recruiter in finding, assessing and engaging the most suitable candidate for a given role. Sourcing of candidates can include a variety of measures including, but not limited to the following: searching their existing database, searching social media profiles, sourcing via referrals whether internal or external, searching for candidates within the organisation, posting a job and sourcing suitable candidates from those that respond, using one’s network to find candidates, among others. Strategies for sourcing candidates vary from recruiter to recruiter and what may work for one role can be ineffective for another.
