In search of a growth partner
Established in 2009, Harper Anderton’s team of six recruiters focus primarily on permanent recruitment including R&D for the food manufacturing industry.
With ambition in spades and desire to take their business to the next level, Harper Anderton was compelled to seek out a new recruitment solution.
“[The previous solution] was really basic and there wasn’t a whole lot of additional capabilities,” explained Laura Moffitt, business strategy and operations manager. “It was more about having a smarter system, with AI functionality and integrations, which we didn’t have. Additionally, we wanted to be able to better organise our business development activities and so we were looking for a CRM that would support our growth.”
It was also the partnership aspect that JobAdder offers to customers that attracted Laura. “I wanted someone that was going to be a bit more flexible when I request a solution or wish to change something.”
Gaining back time
The resulting increase in efficiency for the team is evident, with Laura noting that “time is probably the most quantifiable thing we’ve gained using JobAdder. Our recruiters are working a lot smarter.” Previously, team members would use a variety of resources from the CRM, to Excel or Word to document and track their hiring process. “Whereas now, because I know that everything can be stored on JobAdder, and it looks the way I want it to, it saves time.”
Then there were the “old school” methods. “We literally used to have whiteboards on all our walls with everyone’s live jobs. As soon as we got JobAdder, we ripped it all off the walls…it was so good!”
She added that “you can tell it was properly designed for recruiters because, by nature, salespeople don’t want to do admin. So anything that makes it easier is really good for us as it does need to be done.”
With the help of JobAdder’s implementation and support teams, Laura was able to carry out the majority of the transfer and set-up herself, noting that “it was more smooth sailing than I thought it would be. It was honestly really great. Literally, anything I’ve asked for, we’ve been able to build in. I’ve added a lot of additional fields that works well for us.
“The thing I quite like about JobAdder is that everybody has access to the same support in terms of walkthroughs and the chat tickets which is actually really great for me. On our last platform, I was the only one that was really able to communicate,” she added.
And speaking of communication, Laura appreciates that JobAdder “makes it easier for our consultants so they can spend more time on the phone.”
Keeping up with change
Prior to COVID, Harper Anderton had recorded their biggest quarter since the company had been established. The business hopes to increase headcount when the time is right and the market has steadied itself.
“I know that JobAdder will be supporting us by continuing to evolve and adapt as our business does,” said Laura. “That’s the one thing I really like about how agile the platform is; how much we can change it. Our growth plans are quite fluid and evolve pretty rapidly. I think that JobAdder matches that, in changing as quickly as we can,” she added.
When referring JobAdder to other recruitment businesses, Laura touches on the support offered to users, saying “I’ve never really had to wait too long, which for me is important because my time is quite precious. I haven’t got time to be waiting. Every single supplier we’ve got at the moment says their support is unrivalled. JobAdder’s been the only company we’ve worked with that’s genuinely delivered on the promises they make around support and the service side of things.
“For me, it’s the biggest thing that I like about JobAdder and why I would definitely recommend it. Fantastic!”
