  • You are the data controller and hold the direct relationship with your clients and candidates. You retain ownership of the client and candidate records that you store within the JobAdder platform.
  • JobAdder is the data processor, meaning we act on your instructions when processing the candidate and client information stored in your JobAdder account.

We are using a selection of LLMs hosted by AWS Bedrock. We select an appropriate mix of models that can deliver the best experience and accuracy. The chosen model might change over time depending on performance, but they are all reviewed by our security, and engineering teams for safety, security and compliance before usage.

The LLM providers we use do not retain your inputs and outputs, or use them to improve their services and your data does not leave the AWS environment.

No, your data is not used to train the models

Data stays within the AWS environment. For customers in AU, it may travel to AWS Singapore  for processing before returning to the AU region to be stored at rest. For UK and EU customers, data travels within the EU region (London) for processing before returning to our production environment in Ireland for storage at rest.

In its development of Adder Intelligence, JobAdder has applied the principles set out in the EU’s Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 and in the proposals paper for “Mandatory Guardrails for AI in High Risk Settings” released by the Australian Government in 2024.

We are following a rigorous mitigation approach against both explicit bias (preventing the algorithm from using legally protected attributes) and implicit bias (testing whether the “black box” algorithm introduces bias in its outputs despite our instructions). Once released, AI features are subject to ongoing monitoring and review.

That said, AI is by nature “non-predictive”. It is inherently impossible to be sure that every case will be perfect, which is why it is important to still have humans in the loop. You remain responsible for reviewing the outputs and ensuring the diversity of your candidate pool for particular roles. A human must always be the final decision maker in candidate shortlisting and selection because  Adder Intelligence is not designed to replace the human decision makers in the recruitment process

To reassure our clients, our AI services are built on Amazon Bedrock, which provides a foundation of security and governance. Most importantly, none of your proprietary client or candidate data is ever used to train the underlying foundation models. We use Amazon Bedrock Guardrails to automatically detect and mask sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from candidate profiles, ensuring your data remains private and helping you meet your compliance obligations like GDPR. Furthermore, the platform is the first from a major cloud provider to achieve the ISO/IEC 42001 certification, an independent, third-party audit that validates its commitment to responsible AI management and security.

For the recruitment industry, fairness and compliance are critical. We use Amazon Bedrock’s customizable Guardrails to manage our AI’s behavior, actively filtering for harmful or biased language and blocking topics outside of recruitment, such as legal or financial advice. This technology also helps reduce AI “hallucinations” by forcing the model to base its answers on the source data provided, like a candidate’s resume or job description, rather than inventing facts. This robust framework of security and governance demonstrates our commitment to providing trustworthy AI and ensures our services are built to align with the requirements of new regulations, including the EU AI Act.

JobAdder has an internal risk management framework for developing AI features and functionality within the JobAdder product. 

This framework outlines High, Medium and Low risk use cases with corresponding definitions and examples. 

All AI features, regardless of risk level are submitted for legal and security review and approval and subject to foundational guardrails like internal documentation of prompts, data flow diagram, clear identification of AI functionality in the product and a human element review. 


“High-Risk” use cases are also tested for the risk of discriminatory outcomes and bias before release. Once released, they are subject to ongoing audit and review. For “high risk AI functionality”, it is critical to maintain a human in the loop. That is a fundamental pillar of JobAdder’s AI development strategy. JobAdder’s AI features are not intended to replace the human recruiter’s expertise and judgement, they are designed to assist the recruiter and make them more efficient at their job.

Yes, Jobadder maintains a third-party risk assessment process to establish the minimum security controls and requirements for AI vendors who handle our systems or information. 

This process evaluates the AI vendor’s security control environment, data handling practices, privacy safeguards, leveraging assessment like penetration tests, SOC 2 reports performed by third-party assessment firms.

For AI Infrastructure and model providers, Jobadder’s engineering and security team evaluate vendors based on: data isolation and privacy control, compliance certifications, model security and performance, contractual data protection guarantees, alignment with a shared security responsibility model.

This evaluation led to the selection of Amazon Bedrock as our AI infrastructure provider for AI feature development. Amazon Bedrock is a fully managed service that provides a serverless platform for building and scaling generative AI applications. In other words, Amazon Bedrock is the only “vendor” that is used to power JobAdder’s AI product features and functionality. This keeps your data secure and private as your data is not shared with model providers.

Amazon Bedrock does not store inputs and outputs. It applies a “zero-day data retention” policy to the data that it processes. Once an input is processed within Amazon Bedrock, the outputs return to your JobAdder account and are managed and stored within AWS, consistent with the internal retention policies that we apply to the rest of the data in your account.
