A pro tip for upping your candidate care game

World class candidate care does not have to be a major project – you can provide a greatly improved candidate experience with just a few simple steps using JobAdder.

This is the first of a number of candidate care pro tips I will be sharing.

Candidate care tip 1: Use your job application auto response emails to great effect.

In JobAdder you have the ability to set up an email template called “Auto Response” email which is sent to candidates automatically after they apply.   This email is a fantastic opportunity to get your candidate relationships off to a flying start.    Don’t just send a generic “thanks we received your application and we will contact you if you are shortlisted” message.  We should banish the “we’ll be in touch if we deem you to be acceptable” language and be more inclusive and welcoming.  This job applicant may well be your next colleague, boss, client, neighbour or super star candidate, so why not start the relationship on a positive note?

Auto response emails are a great opportunity to tell your candidates more about your company and brand or prepare them for the hiring process.  You can include images, videos, urls and anything else that might be interesting.
