Adzuna founders Andrew Hunter and Doug Monro met working at Gumtree in 2005. They stayed in the local internet space for five years with Qype and Zoopla, but kept in touch and in 2010 finally hatched the Adzuna plan. The site went live in April 2011 and came to Australia in 2013, their offices are based in Sydney.
What does “Adzuna” actually mean?
“Zuna” means “abundance” in a number of African languages. Adzuna aim to be the most abundant classified ads site on the web, and to bring candidates the best ads sooner than anyone else. Hence the name Ad-zuna.
